In today’s world of real estate selling, heart and sincerity have somehow been lost in the quest to preserve and build a smooth professional image. Marketing books tell us to create an almost artificial gloss which we are told is “critical” in order to have our customers feel certain and secure in using our products and services. If there is one thing I have learned through being an entrepreneur for quite some time it is this… “Having customers love you is priority number one.” It’s not about how “smooth” we are. It’s not about “image.” At the end of the day, Salespeople, particularly Entrepreneur Salespeople, must remember that “consumers” do have a name, do have emotions and do hold the key to their long-term success (not to mention the cash). What I am saying is that customers are people. “No kidding” I hear you say. People however, are far more dynamic than the word “customers” embodies. People live and breath. People worry, people cry, people laugh, people think, people have emotions…and those emotions are VERY powerful. How much humanity do you have in your day to day marketing approach? Have you sat down recently, and with your heart, written a letter of gratitude to your clients? Have you told them how important they are to your business and to you personally? The power of a simple “thank you letter,” cannot be understated. You see, in today’s hard-edged world, sincerity stands out like a sore thumb! People are quite simply not used to a company (which they perceive as something other than a group of other “people”), saying “thank you” when they don’t “have to.” It actually blows them away and secures for you their undying loyalty and patronage. So make a decision right now to express in words, not just thoughts, just how much you appreciate the loyalty and patronage of those who make it possible for you to live. The rewards will be numerous and well worth it. |

I am often amused and somewhat stumped when people look at a successful person and say, “That’s just not me. I could never be like that.” You see I am a huge believer in reasons. It’s rarely true that people cannot do what another human can do…it is usually a case of one person having less reason to achieve or do the same as the successful person. If your life was on the line could you do that “impossible” thing? Sadly, most Aussies are complacent when it comes to change and would rather sit their making excuses than to take any real action. When it comes to opportunities, they look for ones that “suit them” and that, right there, is a HUGE and CRITICAL mistake. In most cases people should be looking for opportunities that are completely unsuitable for them because anything that suits them as they are right now will be an opportunity designed for a looser. Winners seek out things that will cause them to grow and change, not stay the same. Bottom line, if you don’t like your current results, there is no cure other than to change YOU. You must change. You must read more books, attend more seminars, work your cracker off to re-invent who you are. You may have to physically practice speaking more clearly. You may have to do things like reading the dictionary to expand your vocabulary. You have to take acting courses to improve your confidence. You may have to undergo hypnosis to cure certain fears. WHATEVER! But you must change or stop crying “I want more!” You have right now exactly what you deserve. If you want more, BECOME more.
